Why Candle
Making Instructions
Are a Good Idea
Making candles is a fun and unique craft that you can do at home in your spare time. Not only
will you be making candles that you can use to decorate your own home, but you can give them as gifts, or even sell
them as you become more experienced at making them. The real key is to find candle making instructions as early
as you can to make sure that you are using safe and tested methods of candle making.
Unlike knitting or sewing which don’t really have a danger factor to them (OK, you might prick
your finger sewing), candle making can be dangerous if you don’t follow appropritate candle making instructions and
safety measures. The most important part of making candles – the melting of the wax or gel – is something
that should only be done when you fully understand the repercussions and have taken all the precautions that are
necessary. I don’t mean to make you nervous and I certainly don’t intend to discourage you from trying candle
making. I just want you to stay safe.
I also want you to have great results right from the beginning, which is another reason to get
some instruction before you start melting wax. It’s much easier to learn from other people’s experience instead of
trying to reinvent the wheel. One little tip can save you hours of frustration and disappointing results.
That’s why I put this site up and why I wrote my book (Home Candle
Making Made Easy). I wanted to make the guidance, information and advice I wish I had when I was starting out
available to anyone who wanted it.
The Candle Making Connection is a resource that both beginning and expert
candle makers can use. It contains basically everything you need to know about making exquisite and interesting
candles for you, your family, and your friends. I also take some author’s pride in that book of mine :-)
Candle making is a unique craft that you can do for a lifetime, one that you can pass down to
your children, and one that can even be turned into a business. There is no limit to the amount of creativity you
can exhibit when you are making candles – from adding scents and color, to texture and different types of molds.
This pastime is one that will keep you busy and engaged for years to come. I hope you have as much fun with it as I
do.
